If you are reading this post you are most likely a man, between 15 and 35 years old and one that is eager to start a relationship or take the one you have to the next level. You also realized that the best way to have a good relationship is by doing a few things extraordinarily well, many things well enough and you can have the luxury of doing a few things in an unremarkable way...
Keep reading, young man, as we will tap into my vast experience to bring to light the secrets you need to know to succeed with your significant other.
Keep in mind that the advice I'll bring to you applies to both sexes, regardless of the sex of your partner, although I'll use the convention clueless-young-gentleman dating a somehow-disappointed lady for my convenience. Feel free to translate to your particular situation.
First things first: forget about your ideal night out with her. It is her night, and the only way you are going to have a great time is if she has a great time. It is not because you are submissive or because she's a delicate woman that demands special treatment. It is simply because the best way to have a good time is when the people you are spending said time are also having a good time! Simple as that.
Secondly, it is important to listen to her before, during and after your Valentine's date. Before, because otherwise will be hard to know what she likes and she doesn't like; what are her favorite places and her favorite dessert. During, because it is the right thing to do! Any gentleman worth his salt knows that a date is a conversation between two parties and reciprocity rules. An attentive interlocutor brings the best out of any damsel and in turns, a damsel having a great conversation brings out the best in you. After, because, come on! who doesn't like to hear what a great job he's doing? Try it, you will not be disappointed!
In the third place, you should know that your appearance is very important! The way you look will determine everything before you even have a chance to open your mouth and communicate the great evening you have been planning for months! Dress to the nines and take care of every aspect of your image, especially your face. If you have a beard, trim it and use a beard softener and shiner. If you have a clean face make sure you don't have any razor bumps using a good product a few days in advance, (and with code VALENT15, a great product is 15% better!)
Finally, and this is crucial to the success of a great evening, do not rush things and do not try to set the pace. Things will take care of themselves at the right pace. There is nothing worse for anybody than a partner that can't wait until the end of the date.
In summary, be attentive, listen with intention, groom yourself and be patient.
These are the secrets to a good date, and a good relationship; one that could be fun for a night or bring joy to you for the rest of your life.
Here is a quote to remember if things don't go as expected:
"How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours." Wayne Dyer.
Good luck and have a great date!
P.S. Feel free to share your Valentine's day experience at your return.
